2007-2-1 Santa Cruz Thanks for the sashimi

Thanks for the sashimi.
It’s traditional to send a farewell message to people that you worked with so that they can remain in contact. Silicon Valley exists because of the network of human talent. There was a time when the message invariably included the line “so long and thanks for all the fish”, [the message left by the dolphins when they departed Planet Earth just before it was demolished to make way for a hyperspatial express route, as described in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/So_Long,_and_Thanks_for_All_the_Fish]

I’ll be sending my fish message at work tomorrow.

My wife, Marty and son are in Tucson attending the the gem and mineral show. She left a to-do list for our daughter, Alisha that ended with the following:
“I love you as far as the moon and back …. as far as Okinawa wrapped a billion times around the moon and back. You are such a joy to me… and Molly such a miracle. My heart will be with you, Molly and Sterling as I travel the globe. take care of each other and know that you are all held tightly in my heart.
I love you
Mama
